Kids are the future of the world – and this event is about showing the world just how powerful they can be. Gunnar’s goal is to get kids in all 50 states to sponsor him one penny for every mile (1,000 miles = $10) by raising money doing their own unique fundraising projects that we will showcase on this website. The whole world will be able to see the passion, ideas and energy of American kids. It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
Step 1: Come up with an idea that shows who you are and what you love to do! Then go do it!
Raise money by finding someone to sponsor your Gunnar buzz!
Make up your own, brilliant, creative fundraising plan! Just be sure to take a digital photo to send to us!
- Are you an entrepreneur? You can sell anything from lemonade to Popsicles…to homemade cookies. (Hint: parade routes and town festivals are good places to set up shop!) Or collect donated stuff and hold a giant flea market sale in your community. Be sure to let everyone know it’s to support the kids!
- Are you crafty? Make and sell friendship bracelets, hand painted t-shirts, homemade birdhouses, Popsicle stick sculptures, handcrafted greeting cards
- Are you an entertainer? Put on a show with your friends…sell tickets! Host a dinner party! Spaghetti, pancakes, pizza…Chinese dumplings? Sing/perform in the park for donations. Be sure to make a sign that says what you are raising the money for and you’ll probably get some good tips!
- Are you an artist? Set up a “gallery” to sell your art masterpieces.
- Are you hardworking? Mow lawns, dig weeds, paint fences, wash cars, trim hedges, clean garages! Just ask your neighbors what they need done and tell them you’re donating the proceeds to charity.
- Challenge yourself! Get sponsored to bike, walk, run, read, sew, build sand castles, shoot hoops…or something else you love. Set a challenging goal and ask for sponsorship from friends/family if you can reach it!
- Sacrifice! – Give up soda pop, video games or candy for a month! Put the money you would have spent each week in a fund and send it to us when you reach your goal.
Step 2: Send the money you raised.

We use PayPal for our online donation service. After clicking on the Donate button below, you can either log-in with PayPal if you have an account or want to open one with them, or if you just want to make a credit card donation without having a PayPal account you can do that instead. Enter your donation amount at the top of the donation page, then either log-in to PayPal or look for the link on the left side of the page for continuing your donation using your credit card. - Ask an adult to write a check to cover your fundraising total and send a check or money order (please don’t send cash) to:

Step 3: Be famous – tell us about your project!
Fill out the online project form and email it to us with a photo of your event. We will post it on our Wall of Fame so the whole world can see what you did to support a world of peace.
