War Kids Relief director, Dina Fesler, will leave for Afghanistan on November 24 to set up operations on that end for the U.S./Afghan Junior Investor Program. She will be traveling with Kelly Kinnunen, co-founder of NEED Magazine (www.needmagazine.com), who will collect video footage to create the 10-part teaching DVD that will be the cornerstone of the curriculum used for this project.

Fesler and Kinnunen will be visiting schools, homes, businesses, sporting events, museums, concerts, Eid celebrations, government buildings, an Afghan court, hospitals, shopping centers, marketplaces, TV and radio stations, agricultural sites, factories, mosques, parks, a wedding and a funeral that will be featured in the teaching DVD.

Fesler will also be meeting with Santwana Dasgupta, the executive director of P.E.C.A. (the partnering NGO coordinating the vocational training program), as well as teachers and students from the Khost school where the training program will be based. She will also distribute the more than 1,000 letters written by American children to their peers in Afghanistan.
