Sarosha and I scouting out a park for the July 4th kickoff event!
The Dallas trip went really well. I met up with Sarosha to plan the kickoff in Dallas next month and things are getting really exciting.
We also did a couple interviews with the local media in Dallas. The first interview was for Dallas Channel 11 News at 4:00. Let me tell you, I was a bit nervous for my first TV interview! It all worked out great though! They had me walk down the street to give some action shots for the news broadcast, which might have been a good thing, if only I weren’t wearing nice pants and a dress shirt. Those aren’t exactly the kind of clothes I plan on wearing while walking in the Texas heat on the 4th of July! We were also interviewed by The Dallas Morning News (newspaper), and I think that is going to be a pretty big article. I’ll let you know when it comes out!
We also had the wonderful opportunity to tour the Plano, Ismaili Jamatkhana. Ismaili is a branch of Shia Islam, and is where Sarosha gains her inspiration to help serve the world’s children (including raising over $7,000 in her own projects to support the educational needs of girls in Afghanistan). Dina and I were warmly welcomed by the members of the Jamatkhana, who were happy to share information on Islam, as well their desire to spread peace throughout the world.
